ABE+ (ABE Plus) is a new program for the fall of 2011.

This program is for any ABE student who has a qualifying child. (3 yrs to 5 yrs)   The parent can enroll their child in ECFE offerings and receive a scholarship to pay for the tuition.  Each parent must agree to attend 7.5 hours of ABE instruction and 2.5 hours of parenting class each week.  The parenting class meets on Thursday mornings, but the ABE hours are flexible.  The parent must also supply a copy of the child’s birth certificate and immunization records.

This agreement is between Adult Basic Education/ ECFE and    

I agree to attend 7.5 hours of ABE Class and 2.5 hours of parenting class per week to qualify for scholarship dollars for my child.

1. I will attend ABE classes on a regular basis for a total of 7.5 hours per week.  This may be in ESL, GED prep or basic skills.

2. I will attend Parenting class on Thursday morning each week.

3. I will have my qualifying child to class on time, either 9 am or 12:30 pm depending upon their placement.

4. I will provide all documentation to ECFE for registration of my qualifying child.

• I will call anytime that my child or I will not be attending class.  231-8480

• After four (4) unexcused absences I will be removed from the program and my child will not be allowed to attend ECFE classes.  I understand that I may still attend ABE classes even if my child’s scholarship is lost and they are removed from ECFE classes.

• Planned absences must be approved ahead of time.

• If my child is removed I can reapply for but understand that my child will be at the bottom of the waiting list.

• Free Child care will be available for my children three(3) months to five (5) years old while I am attending class
