FAQs

Q: What is the Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center's operating season?

A: The Aquatic Center is open from the first week in June through the last week in August.

Q: What are the Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center's operating hours?

A: We are open 7 days a week from 12:00pm to 7:00pm - weather permitting.

Q: Must I pay admission even though I am not going to swim?

A: Because we can not govern who will or will not be using the amenities, we require all guests to pay admission. However, we do offer a discounted rate of $2.00 for observers.

Q: Are there additional fees once I get into the Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center?

A: All amenities except for the concession stand are included in the daily fee or season pass fee - so enjoy all day for one great low price!

Q: How warm is the water?

A: We keep the temperature of the water at the Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center at 84 degrees.

Q: Are swim diapers required on young children?

A: Swim diapers are required on children who are not completely potty trained and are available for purchase at the admissions counter for $2.00.

Q: What can I bring to the Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center?

A: You may bring a US Coast Guard approved life jacket and goggles that do not cover the nose to use in our pool. Also an all white t-shirt is approved for sun coverage. Please, no coolers or outside food as they are banned from being taken inside the facility.

Q: Is food at the Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center's Concession stand expensive?

A: No, Menu prices range from $0.10 to $2.00 per item.

Q: Do you have lifeguards on duty?

A: The pool is staffed by Red Cross certified lifeguards and a pool manager on duty.

Q: What rules are there concerning dress code?

A: We recommend proper swimming attire. Street clothes of any kind are not allowed in the pool. An all white t-shirt (with no print) is allowed for sun protection.

Q: How tall must I be to ride the large waterslides?

A: Patrons must be at least 48" tall to ride the large waterslides. The guests that are shorter than 48" may ride the special kiddie frog slide.

Q: Can an adult ride down the slides with someone who is too short?

A: No, due to safety reasons we do not allow two people to ride down the slide at once, regardless of height.

Q: Is there anything for the children who are not 48" yet?

A: Yes, we have a frog slide and a zero-depth pool with  a number of features.

Q: How can I apply for a job at Dorothy A. Olson Aquatic Center? How old must I be?

A: Employment opportunities for lifeguards over the age of 15 who have transportation to and from the facility, may be available during the summer. Click HERE for more information.
